For horses that are diagnosed with or are prone to obesity, Laminitis, Cushing's or Equine Metabolic Syndrome, be sure to take into consideration the increase in non-structural carbohydrates in fall pasture due to frost ā„ļø

Take note, not ALL carbohydrates are bad; in fact all horses NEED 'structural' carbohydrates (fiber) in their diet. Depending on the horse, some need to limit the amount of 'non-structural' carbohydrates in their full diet, as non-structural carbohydrates are sugar and starch.

Hopefully this helps to know the difference between 'structural' carbohydrates and 'non-structural' carbohydrates 🐓 And of course knowing your horse and what their 'normal' looks like, sure comes in handy.
